FASAI exhibited 36 audiovisual works in its second edition, among short lengths , medium lengths and features. Five films were rewarded such as Pirinop – Meu Primeiro Contato, by Karané Ikpeng and Mari Corrêa who received two prizes: Beija-Flor de Gravata Trophy, offered to the best documentary and Orlando Sena Trophy, offered to the best production according to the popular jury. The movie portrays the Indians Ikpeng’s reality who are located in a region close to Xingu River: threatened by garimpeiro`s invasions this people had to be transferred to the Indígena do Xingu Park.
The Cidade de Iraquara Trophy, offered to the best film according to the official jury, was given to a Peruvian production called Choropampa – El Precio del Oro, by Stephanie Boyb and Ernesto Cabellos (check the complete list of rewarded movies at the end of this text). Beyond Brazil and Peru, many other American countries took part in the Festival: United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Equator. The expectations were achieved and the audience receptivity was high.
Besides the videos exhibition, some workshops were also done such as Environment and Sustainability; Permaculture; Territory and Identity and also a discussion table about environmental education having as a partner the Environment and Water Resources Secretary (SEMARH) of Bahia. About 100 teachers of municipal public schools of Iraquara, Seabra and neighbor cities took part in this discussion.
